Office blouse look

This timeless look featuring a blouse, pants, and a blazer dates back to the 18th century, when Marie Antoinette wore a ruffled cotton robe de gaulle for her 1783 portrait, causing a scandal at that time. Little did she know that it would encourage the cotton business grow along with the institution of slavery and the environmental pollution. The white shirt still only worn by men up until the 20th century and associated with the symbol of wealth (who could afford washing it?), was integrated into womenswear thanks to Coco Chanel in the 1920s. Now we can pair it almost anything in our work capsules. Learn how we picked items for this look here.
